TOPIC: Adoption 101 for Family Law Attorneys

Ms. Morrison will give an overview of the practice of adoption law in Cook County and describe the various types of adoptions with an emphasis on step-parent adoptions, the kind most often contested by a biological parent. The presentation will also provide pointers on avoiding contested adoptions and meeting the requirements of the Adoption Act when taking on an adoption case as a young lawyer.
