Hands-On: Learn To Use Google Search Like Pro

The IAALS survey on educating tomorrow's lawyers reveals that lawyers are expected to know how to effectively research. Google Search may seem simple on the surface, but underneath that unassuming white screen lives a variety of advanced search tools. Adding symbols, combining search terms, omitting certain results and using Google's built in filters helps get you the results you're looking for in minutes, not hours.

In this session we will cover:
  • Google search techniques, including Boolean expressions and natural language search
  • The advanced search interface and learn how to construct search with special symbols
  • How to search in specific types sources, such as government, news, images and video
