Update on Temporary Visitor Driver's License and REAL ID

A Temporary Visitor Driver's License (TVDL) permits foreign-born individuals living in Illinois to drive. Since 2005, TVDLs have been issued to individuals without a Social Security number, but who have lawful immigration status, such as international students, spouses and children of temporary workers, and long-term visitors. In December 2013, a bill was passed into law to make TVDLs available to undocumented drivers. Our panelists will discuss recent changes and developments with the TVDL program along with the legislative history, pointers, and more.

Our panel members will also discuss the impact and issues related to the REAL ID Act in Illinois.
