Communicating Across Differences

Effective communication is a vital skill for lawyers to master. The dynamics of the modern law firm, which are constantly changing and growing across global and diverse areas, necessitate communication as an essential skill to improve morale, productivity, and professionalism within the firms.This session will focus on improving the skills of attorneys in communicating with colleagues from different backgrounds including the ways that we miscommunicate and how to avoid common issues in miscommunication. Participants will practice techniques for better listening and learn how to ask more effective questions to explore different perspectives in an inclusive and productive way.
