Women Lawyers in the Courtroom - April 12 (complimentary)

On April 12, join the CBA and the U.S. District Court for a discussion of strategies and best practices to empower women lawyers as lead counsel and trial counsel in litigation. The free symposium will be held from 12:30-5:15 p.m. at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse, 219 S. Dearborn St., Chicago. Register online or call 312-554-2056.

The symposium will lead off with a discussion of the studies "If Not Now When? Achieving Equality for Women Attorneys in the Courtroom and in ADR" and "The Participation of Women Lawyers as Lead Counsel and Trial Counsel in Litigation." After a discussion of the studies, panelists will discuss best practices to increase the number of women attorneys in the courtroom. Various points of view on the subject, including those of in-house counsel, managing partners and judges, will be examined.

Attendees will receive 3.75 IL PR-MCLE Credit (subject to approval).

Event is held in conjunction with the Black Women Lawyer's Association and the Women's Bar Association of Illinois.
